Hello!
My name is Matthew Patton and I have been a member of Troop 90 for 7 years.
Troop 90 has been a huge part of my life ever since I first joined. From summer camp, to campouts, to weekly Wednesday meetings, and even serving as a patrol leader and the current Troop Guide of Leadership, the things I have experienced here have shaped me into the person I am today.
Like many of our scouts, I have been working towards becoming an Eagle Scout for several years. I have now come to one of the final steps, the Eagle Scout Service Project, and I need your help. I feel that the most direct way to help people in our community is through teaching others about the importance of blood donation and by providing a chance to donate/volunteer at a blood drive. The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.
So how can you help? I’m glad you asked! You can attend my blood drive, which will be onSunday, September 27th at West Suburban Temple Har Zion in River Forest, from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM and donate blood!
I encourage you to sign up in advance (http://rdcrss.org/1D4Gd9b) and to fill out the RapidPass survey to save 15 minutes from your appointment redcrossblood.org/RapidPass
Can’t donate but still want to help? I will need volunteers to assist with set-up, registration and snack tables, and clean up. Please contact me at slimchardy@gmail.com to register to work as a volunteer for a few hours that day.
Thank you so much for your consideration and for helping me reach my goal of becoming an Eagle Scout! Please feel free to email me with any questions or for more information.
I hope to see you on September 27th!
Sincerely,
Matthew Patton
